Hi, this year  I am learning more about lighting and rendering.

Lambert Lighting

hello, Lighting the scene before texturing  helps to understand the depth and shadows in that scene
and pre-plan the shots for lighting 
here in render options we have to 1st off default lighting and start with lighting scene, mostly we use ambient light to lit particular area and spotlight for the fog effect !! and light linking is used to to lit particular object

Caustics 

I had to create ring caustic, glass caustics and fake underwater caustics
All have common in one thing that is photons, just reflection, refraction and materials varies
caustics in indirect lighting should be enabled before rendering, photon map can be reused to reduce the render timing of mental ray render

here, comes my output of different kind of caustics ,,




Physical sunlight

In this, I had to work by creating physical sunlight which is built in mental ray render setting and tweak with attributes like Red/blue swift, saturation, horizontal height, sun disk intensity ..and much more

Global illumination

In this, i  had to work with the values in  caustic and global illumination attributes found in spotlight, like photon intensity, exponent and global illum photons and with spotlight attributes like intensity, cone angle, penumbra angle and dropoff

Final Gathering



This was simple and faster to work with !! just had to play around ambient, diffuse, eccentricity, specular color, reflectivity etc

 1st  assignment we were asked to rig a basic light rig consisting of 20 to 40 lights in one scene which can be imported in any scene.
 with simple steps, we were able to create lig rig with controls which can be aimed at any direction and it has very low intensity and warm and cool colors as required.
